Stanford’s total transformation of its energy system is a story of ingenuity and creativity and an insight into Northern California’s history. From technological inventions to natural disasters, Stanford’s winding journey to continually transform energy operations on campus offers great learnings and inspiration around operational sustainability for campuses, organizations, and cities.

You can do it too.

The full transformation of Stanford energy supply through SESI is fully scalable and transferable. From examples to process documentation and technical data, there are many resources to help replicate the SESI processes. SESI is also a cost-effective solution that helps the triple bottom line of organizations, and is applicable to organizations of any size. In fact, the Stanford Redwood City Campus features a smaller scale, even more efficient version of the CEF, which demonstrates to other campuses and cities the transportability of the systems and technology of SESI.
